You know that sinking feeling when you're told to "just pick a niche", follow the seven steps, and talk to one ideal client forever and your whole body wants to rebel?

We're naming that experience for what it is: a mismatch, not a moral failing.

If you're a multi-passionate entrepreneur with ADHD or a neurodivergent brain, the pressure to stay in one lane can create real shame especially when you've tried plan after plan and can't repeat results the way other people seem to. In this episode, Kristen breaks down exactly why traditional business advice fails multi-passionate founders, and what to build instead.

They share the metaphor that hit them like a lightning bolt: a disco ball is hundreds of pieces of broken mirror glass turned into something magical. That's you. Your curiosity, pivots, passions, and "too muchness" aren't proof you're broken they're raw materials for brilliance.

From there, it gets practical. How to build a scalable core offer the trunk that creates consistent revenue, then give yourself full permission to explore the branches through workshops, retreats, experiments, and creative side quests without wrecking your foundations.

If this lands, subscribe, share it with a multi-brilliant mate, and leave a review so more neurodivergent founders can find a business model that actually fits.

ulti-Brilliant And Hard To Box

SPEAKER_00

But when I saw this particular quote, and I don't know who it's from, I just found it on Pinterest and I was like, oh my lordy lordy, does that not absolutely solidify and identify us as multi-brilliant humans? Where we can't be put in a box, we can't stay in one lane. It hurts when we try to do just one thing, right? It's uncomfortable and it feels like we want to break free of it. But yet when we are our multi-passionate ADHD neurodivergent selves, we also feel uncomfortable because we're not fitting in to what the world wants us to fit into. So that also makes us really question who we are. Should we be doing this? Is this the right thing? I should be able to stay this way. I should be able to kneese down. I should be able to do one thing. Why can't I? Why can't I just stick to that thing I started? Why? Why am I failing again?

SPEAKER_01

Hey, yo, hey, yo, then you're reading up. A random one number, five cats, moment.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

he Disco Ball Reframe

SPEAKER_00

Well, here's my little piece of inspiration today that I just want to touch on before I open up this conversation. So if you're walking along now, just take a moment, take a beat, take this in because I want to read it and see how this lands for you. I want to understand how this makes you feel. And obviously, this is we're just on podcasts here, so I'm not going to know, but I want you to say it out loud, feel it out loud, shoot me a DM on Multibrilliant Project Instagram, or just come up in and let me know how this makes you feel. A disco ball is a hundred pieces of broken glass put together to make a magical ball of light. You aren't broken. You're a fucking disco ball. Like if you think of a disco ball, it's not hard that it it brings a smile, it brings a sense of joy, it brings just colour and the spinning of it. It's a sphere, it's around, it's always going, it's a ball, it's a bit of light, it's when light bounces off it, it reflects, it just for me personally, it brings a shit ton of joy. Because it says dance law, it says fun, it says there's something cool about it. I don't know. So a disco ball is a hundred pieces of broken glass put together to make a magical ball of light. You aren't broken, you're a fucking disco ball. Now, as a multi-brilliant, multi-passionate human being, I'm just curious how that makes you feel. To think that you're not broken, but you are hundreds of pieces of broken glass that have been put back together to make something that is magical, make something that is joyful, make something that brings light and love and spark and excitement and humor and love and fun. You do that. You do that with your multi-brilliance. And I suppose the biggest part of this particular podcast today is just the permission slip. Maybe I don't know what you need, but I I feel like I was called to send this message to you that you're not, you know, a lot of people say, and I've said it before, don't dim your light, shine bright. And I believe that. But when I saw this particular quote, and I don't know who it's from, I just found it on Pinterest and I was like, oh my lordy lordy, does that not absolutely solidify and identify us as multi-brilliant humans? Where we can't be put in a box, we can't stay in one lane, it hurts when we try to do just one thing, right? It's uncomfortable and it feels like we want to break free of it. But yet when we are our multi-passionate ADHD neurodivergent selves, we also feel uncomfortable because we're not fitting in to what the world wants us to fit into. So that also makes us really question who we are. Should we be doing this? Is this the right thing? I should be able to stay this way, I should be able to niche down, I should be able to do one thing. Why can't I? Why can't I just stick to that thing I started? Why, why am I failing again? And this particular quote just brought so much joy to me. And I know when Mia and I, I showed it to Mia and she was like, oh my god, that's fucking us. That's that's the multi-brilliant community. That's a multi-passionate entrepreneur. We are serial entrepreneurs, so we are always trying new things. And this was just this beautiful thing that, you know, in my mind, I think I just obviously you know what a disco ball looks like. A duh. Um, but if you imagine all of those pieces of glass, or even if you imagine a piece of glass, just a full one piece of glass, it's you know, it's got its own beauty, it's got its reflection, it's got, it reflects back to you what's there, it opens up space. It's a beautiful thing, full stop. But now if you just imagine dropping that on the ground and it smashes everywhere, and you go, oh no, I've I've broken something that had such beauty, such cleanness, such like no lines, nothing, like everything was perfection in this one pane of glass, and now I've gone and broken it. But then when you think about taking all those hundreds of pieces of broken glass and putting them all over a ball and creating a disco ball, like you're not broken, you're a fucking disco ball.

10K Core Offer Foundation

SPEAKER_00

And so when it comes to building the multi-brilliant project and building evolution, which is our high-touch container for entrepreneurs, multi-passion entrepreneurs that want to build their core offer. As somebody that's a bit spicy, we help you build a 10k a month core offer that you can scale and simplify. And we love to work with our community to help them understand that it's okay if you've got lots of different passions. Our focus is to get that core offer, the stability, the foundation, that thing that's in your through line, your dynamic personal brand, that thing that lights you up that has lit you up for a long time, but maybe you haven't been able to uncover it. And then once you've got that core offer and you are making consistent 10k plus months, then you get to kind of what we say is growing the branches. Like the core offer is your trunk. That's the trunk of the tree. And you get to play in the branches once you've got that core offer downpacked, and that's what we help you do inside evolution is nail that core offer because it's multi-spicies, multi-spicies, multi-brilliant entrepreneurs. Like we fucking know. We know we are chaotic, we know we are pieces of broken glass, but hell, when we're put together, we make something pretty brilliant, right? But sometimes it can feel hard to choose that one offer, that one thing. And that's what we do is make sure that we can support you in understanding what your one offer, your true core is. And we've got all the tools in order for you to do that and understand what that is, so that you can build that community around you that's going to help you build that core offer and create that 10k plus months as your foundation. But the really fun stuff that we do, that there's nobody else doing it out there because I don't believe that any neurotypical really truly understands what's possible when you support a multi-passionate human being like us to hone in on their skills and hone into what they're good at and understand their dynamic personal brand and what that offer actually is to the bigger, bolder, greater world. Because once we can do that and we set you up solidly for that, then you get to play. You get to play on those branches, you get to do a workshop here, you get to do a retreat there, you get to do a high ticket there, you get to do a low ticket over there, you get to just, I don't know, throw a disco party and see if that works, or start cooking and offer cooking classes. Like it, it doesn't matter what those branches are that you want to plug in once you've got that core offer.

hy One-Lane Advice Feels Awful

SPEAKER_00

And so this permission slip, this cheek little podcast that I want to drop you today is around that permission slip. If you've if you've ever felt like a coach has ever said to you, like you may have invested big money, big buckaroonies in a coach because they are gonna get you to one place. They're gonna help you scale and launch your business. And they have probably and possibly incredible skills to do that, right? And that's probably and possibly why you invested in them because they wanted to, they said they would get you your 100k months, they would get you your 10k months, they would get you your million-dollar business. All you had to do is do these seven steps every single day for the rest of your fucking life and talk to one person and one person only, and that's your whole vision and everything that you need to do. And you went into that thinking, yes, cool, I'm gonna do that. And then all of a sudden you got into that world and went, why is this so goddamn uncomfortable? Why can't I stick to it? Why do I want to rebel against it? Why does this feel uncomfortable like a woolen jumper on a hot day where you just want to fucking like it's itching at your neck and your skin and you feel uncomfortable and all you want to do is just rip it off and throw it in the bin? And you're wondering, what is wrong with me? Why can't I do this? Why am I broken? Why is it so easy for everybody else to do this plan of one, two, three, seven steps and repeat it over and over and over again? And and everybody else seems like they're succeeding, and everybody else is able to do it, and everybody else is talking to one niche and one person, and their personal brand online seems really powerful because they're always talking and doing the same thing. And you're looking at that, that beautiful, plain, wonderful mirror, right? That beautiful mirror, that piece of glass, that mirror that's there, and you're looking at it thinking, oh, it's stunning. There's not an imperfection, nothing's out of place, there's not a line, there's not a chip, there's not even a bloody smudge on the fucking thing. It's perfect. Why can't I why can't I do that? Why can't I be perfect? Why can't I just take action and it be exactly what I want? And and so you start to really second guess yourself. And you start to think that you are broken and you start to think that nothing will ever work for you. Because you've tried maybe one, maybe two, maybe five coaches, who knows? You've tried it, you've tried the freebies, you've rocked up to the webinars, you've invested in people and it's still not working for you. Maybe it's worked a little bit, you know, and maybe you're you've seen success. Maybe you've had 5k months, 10k months, maybe you've had 50k months, but it's been once. And then you've tried to repeat that, and you've gone, why why can't I repeat it? And again, you go back to that shame and you go back to what's wrong with me. And there is an immense amount of shame. And I know that because I've done it multiple times. Mia's done it multiple times. You honestly feel like there's something wrong with you. And so this permission slip is us saying we get it. We we understand it. We know that what will happen with you if you are like us, and I'm I'm guessing if you're still on this podcast and you're still listening, then this may be you. Is if you've decided one day to, I don't know, start studying nursing and you started on that on that trajectory and you started doing it and you loved it and you were in it and everything felt good, and then one day you woke up and you went, I love this, but I also would really, really like to start art classes for kids with ADHD. That's cool. That's okay. And if a coach has ever said to you, no, you you can't do that, you should stay on that path and stay with that focus and do that one thing. This is the permission slip that I hope you needed today to let you know that it's okay to explore those branches. It's okay to go, you know what? There's something in coaching kids with ADHD to do art. Even though I'm I'm doing my nursing degree, even though I'm I'm a teacher by trade, even though my core thing when I left school was to study XYZ nursing teaching fucking lawyer. But there's something in you that's like, I want to do that. And what we do inside evolution, what we do inside our program is we allow you to discover that. We don't ever say no. Oh, fuck no. We don't ever, ever say to you, no, don't do that. What we say

inding The Through Line

SPEAKER_00

is, okay, let's go through our proof loop. Let's check this and let's first of all make sure does this align with your dynamic personal brand? Is the through line, your deep why, connected to this somewhere in your story? And we help you unpack your story by understanding your deep why and understanding your through line and your story and your messaging. And in that and in that moment, we are able to discover with you and for you, hang on a minute, this is a whole new branch that you're growing. This has actually never come up before. Why is that? And we'll discover that and we'll we'll upturn it and we'll go through it. And there may be two things that happen. It may be like, you know what? Just excites me. How cool would that be? Totally fun. And we go, okay, why don't we turn that into a bit of a hobby and a passion and a hyper focus? Because there's nothing wrong with that. We need to do that as multi-brilliant creatives. We need to explore those senses, or we go insane. Or we say, okay, why? This is new. Why is that? And we open you up and we have conversations with you that I guarantee you, hand of fucking heart, I guarantee you, there is not one coach that is going this deep with multi-brilliant, multi-passionate entrepreneurs. And that is to say to you, okay, let's explore that. Tell me why this lights you up. Tell me what you want to do. Tell me why is this something that excites you? Why does this light you up? Where does this come from? And all of a sudden we will keep digging and digging and digging until you say something that you didn't even know was inside you, that potentially, just for example, if we do the ADHD kids' painting, and that's something you've never explored, but it's been there, maybe, maybe, just maybe, we have these conversations and we uncover a moment where you might just say, Oh, you know what? Like when I was in the fourth grade, I had this art teacher, and she said to me that, and actually, this is a true story. When I was at school, I was gonna do an example, but this is a true and real example of a story that a lived experience. That when I was at school in about year four, I had a teacher that was an art teacher, and we never really did um writing or maths or anything like that because she loved art and she said art was the most important form of expression, and we can kind of do the writing the maths later. I'm pretty sure my mum and dad have now seen that I can't do my times tables at 42 and are like, mmm, red flag. Anyway, she and I remember her, I can see her clearly. I can't actually remember her name, which is really sad, but I I can see her clearly. She was very, if you imagine the typical art teacher with the kind of grey long hair, it's very messy, but she's done it up in a bun and the bun's messy and the front of her hair is kind of falling over her face, and she was a bit stooped over, um, very animated and fun and funny and colourful, but not colourful in the terms of war, every colour. She wore a lot of black coats, but yet they'd be like the colours of um deep greens and maroons and purples and stuff like that. And she probably at that time, in my eyes, she would have been 60, but I reckon she would have been about 40. Anyway, she was at the front of the class teaching, and the principal, Mr. D, Mr. D, Mr. Demetri, Mr. Trim oh fuck, Mr. Demetri, yeah, that was his name, but we called him Mr. D, because clearly it's hard to say. He came into the classroom and he walked around the classroom and we're all kind of writing and working. And all he said was, everyone who has a left hand, please put your hand up. And me, being a left-hander, was like, fuck, here I am, called out. Here we go again, dyslexic dumbass, I'm called out again. So I'm in the back of the classroom, well, probably in the classroom in general, and there was about three of us, and we just all gingerly raised our hand, and I could feel myself feeling sick. I was embarrassed, I was ashamed. I thought, what's he gonna say? Because if you haven't heard the podcast before, you haven't been around the bush for a while here, I am dyslexic. And so I really struggled at school with um for the first few years before I was diagnosed at about 13, I think, I I really did feel stupid. Um, and there's, you know, that's kind of part of my story, which is part of my power now. But at that time, I raised my hand, and you know, all the kids that um, you know, we were all usually called out of class to do extra work, to work on our fucking dyslexia and shit like that. So we raised our hand and I was sitting there and he goes, All right, everyone, clap for these kids. And I was like, what the fuck? And he said, I just wanted to let you know that I found out this fact that people that are left-handed are some of the most creative people on this planet. So congratulations, you guys are gonna be creative geniuses. And he just kind of stopped, and the whole class was like, Oh, that's cool. You know, and all of a sudden, in that fucking second, he made us all feel seen. And he changed that moment. And for me, thinking about this now, going back to our community and going back to that person that may be sitting there thinking, I don't know why I want to do the ADHD drawing thing. And then we dig deeper, we dig and we dig and dig until you find a story like that. And we go, there it is. There's your passion, there's your purpose, there's your why, because you don't want any other child, you don't want any other kid with dyslexia with ADHD to feel like you felt in a moment in your life. And so you giving these kids art classes, you giving these kids educations and lessons, that is your beautiful way of saying to them, I've got you. And so this is really important in terms of when you are multi-passionate and when you are neurodivergent, and when you are spectacular as we are, we can't be put in a box. We can't be told to do one thing. It fucking hurts. We won't make the money we're meant to make by doing one thing. What we will do when we are allowed to uncover and discover our uniqueness and our brilliance is it allows us to then shine in the way we need to. Build that core value, that core meaningful something that is us. And inside evolution, that is your 10k plus core value, the trunk that you grow from. And then you get to play in those branches. So your core value as somebody that, you know, if you came to us and and you had a core value offer already, that's say it was one-on-one coaching and you coached, let's just say, women around nutrition in perimenopause. All right. And that was your core offer. And we helped you build that to 10k plus months, and then all of a sudden, you want to play in these branches and you come back to us and go, hey guys, they've got this ADHD craft, creative kid painting. I I don't know why I need to discover it, but does that align? Like it does it feel like it aligns with my perimenopausal women of 40. And we go, okay, let's uncover it, let's discover it, let's dig. And then all of a sudden we do that digging, we get to that story about Mr. D, for example. And then we as a community inside evolution, and Mia and myself as coaches, we get to then say to you, fucking congrats. Clappity clap, clap, clap. You now have built a branch of your business that excites you as a multi, brilliant creative. How cool is that that you finally, instead of being told, no, no, that's that's great that you want to do that craft thing, cool, that's great. But what you need to do is just stay in this one lane and do this one-on-one coaching or this one-to-many coaching of perimen pausal women at 40. You just need to stay there. You are going to get burnt out. You are going to hate it. You are going to get to a point where you want to burn the whole fucking thing down. And we will not allow that inside evolution inside our community because as multi-brilliant coaches, oh, we know we burn heaps of shit down. But it's only because we've learned those lessons that we've now put together the proof loop, we've put together the dynamic personal brand, the dopamine launch system that allows you to go, okay, I've got my core offer, and you know what, for some reason it's feeling uncomfortable, like I want to pivot. All right, cool. Let's plan the branches. Let's pivot, but let's look at the community we've built and the core that we've built and see how it aligns and how we can stem for it, how we can grow from it. So that's something that that I wanted to the permission slip to be for you today, is that you don't have to do one thing. And being multi-passionate and multi-brilliant should be celebrated in a way that you are so lucky, so, so lucky to have a brain that at any moment in time can pivot. And you know, me and I talk about this all the time in terms of as a serial entrepreneur, if

reedom By Design And DM Invite

SPEAKER_00

my husband said to me one day, hey, look, this isn't really working, you're building this business, and uh I think it would be better if you you just need to get a nine to five job that pays the bills and it comes in this time and it's regular and it's constant, and we just need to do that. My first response wouldn't be to go, okay, fuck it, I'll just go get a nine to five job. Yes, I should do that. It would be okay. I'm an entrepreneur, I'm a serial entrepreneur. How am I going to make that gap, that money? What am I going to do? Am I going to paint pots and sell them at the markets? Am I going to do art classes for kids? Am I going to do cooking classes? Am I going to, you know, go and be a cleaner for somebody and work two days a week cleaning? Because then it's on my terms as an entrepreneur. So that allows us to still pivot, but create that life that we want, which isn't stuck in a box, which isn't a nine to five, which isn't working for somebody else. But it gives us what we call our freedom. And our freedom might not be what everyone's freedom is. Personally, my freedom is the ability to write now, it's my son's birthday tomorrow. So I had to go out and get a few things from the shops. So, like, and now I'm gonna go inside and wrap his present, get all of that ready, make. Lasagna fatigues, we've got Netball tonight. And then I'm going to sit down and do my hours of work in solitude and get that done because that's how I've designed my day and my life here on my vineyard that I'm looking at right now. So if nothing else from this podcast today, I hope that you realize you're a fucking disco ball. And I love you for that. And that every time you feel broken, I want you to think of that disco ball. I want you to think, you know what? I am just a hundred pieces of broken, beautiful mirror glass put together to make a disco ball. And who doesn't love a fucking disco ball? And if nothing else, like I said, be that disco ball, but also use this as your permission slip to explore for you what makes you happy. And to build something that you are proud of, that you love, but know that it doesn't have to be the one and done. You have the ability to play in those branches. And so if you ever want any more information around evolution, just DM us. We do have, you can apply at any time to join us. And the reason we say apply is because we want to know that this is the right fit for both of us. And that means that if you go, you know what, I want to apply, but I don't know if it's right, I've got this, this, this, we can have a chat. And we'll look at that application form and we'll decide whether you are right and ready for it. Because when you know, you know. And if you are ready, we are going to make you jump and get uncomfortable as fuck because we know you can do it. And so if you want to apply, just DM us and we shall get that ball rolling. But at the end of the day, it's been a fun chat, and I hope you realize you're a fucking disco bull and I couldn't love you more. I gotta go get ready for my kids' party. Bye! Love ya. So many good ones, too.
